Shopping

Fashion is taken seriously in Melbourne!  Whatever your style and budget, you’ll find an outlet, boutique or market that caters for it.  Go exploring through laneways and arcades, head to Melbourne Central or discover the QV and GPO precincts.

The high street is alive and well in Melbourne so why not head to one of the popular shopping strips for your fashion fix. Try Chapel Street (a very short tram or taxi trip away, or 15 minute walk), South Yarra for high-end boutiques such as Collette Dinnigan and Scanlan and Theodore or Brunswick Street, Fitzroy for urban cool such as Gorman and FAT.

If markets are more your thing, get on down to the historic Queen Victoria Markets for clothing, jewellery, toys and fresh fruit & veg. Opened in 1878 these markets are both a historic landmark and institution for Melburnians as well as a major tourist attraction.
